Right before Junior year started my mom warned me that this year was going to be tough and I couldn’t agree with her more. With all the tests and quizzes so far I’m definitely in for a long ride. By this time next year I will have learned and accomplished so many new things through my time in ISM. In my first 2 weeks of ISM, my biggest challenge so far was finalizing my topic of study. Before this year had begun, I was confused on whether I wanted to be a Lawyer, Gynecologist, Pediatrician, or a Psychologist. But after creating an introduction speech, website, and portfolio I realized my true passion, Psychology. Last week I created insightful interview questions for my potential psychologist to have as a mentor. Last week I also submitted my first research assessment which really opened my to a new perspective within psychology. As I was reading an article by article so many questions filled my head. Questions relating to behavior, our impulses, and especially out emotions. While going to ISM day by day my professional and communication skills have drastically improved. In addition I’ve gained knowledge on the multiple fields within psychology. I look forward to seeing my character change in a more mature and professional way.
